Event: Forest Day 3 [viewed]

Forest Day 3 will be hosted by Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), the Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF) and the Government of Denmark. The event will convene in parallel to the UN Copenhagen Climate Change Conference. It will build on the success of Forest Day 1 and 2 in helping to ensure forests are high on the agenda for future climate outcomes, and will pave the way forward in making these outcomes work beyond the Copenhagen climate change negotiations.

Event: Agriculture and Rural Development Day 2009 [viewed]

With the theme The road after Copenhagen: priority strategies and actions for ensuring food security and rural development in the face of climate change, the Agriculture and Rural Development Day will seek to develop a work plan with strategies and actions to fully incorporate agriculture into the post-Copenhagen agenda. The event will consider areas such as: the role of agriculture and farmers in adaptation and mitigation strategies; future scenarios for agriculture, rural development and food security; climate change as a development issue; and innovations in the agricultural sector of relevance to the climate change agenda.

The “Development and Climate Days” special event is organized by the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD). The event will focus on the following issues: land, water and forests; justice, ethics and humanitarian issues; planning adaptation; and mitigation, finance and the private sector. It is sponsored by the UK Department for International Development (DfID) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark (Danida).
