UNDP and Turkmenistan Support Adaptation in Caspian Area [viewed]

4 June 2010: The UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the Hazar Nature Reserve, located on the Caspian Sea Coast of Turkmenistan, are developing adaptive approaches to promote the conservation of biodiversity in the reserve. The project, implemented in collaboration with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the Ministry of Nature Protection of Turkmenistan, aims to predict and map the effects of climate change, including rapid change of the shoreline, the emergence of new islands, the disappearance of existing landscapes, and biodiversity loss.

EIB, European Commission to Explore Joint Climate Finance [viewed]

The first meeting of the Group of Experts of the Global Energy Efficiency 21 (GEE21) Project convened on 10 June 2010. It was preceded by the 15th Session of the Ad Hoc Group of Experts on Energy Efficiency Investments for Climate Change Mitigation, on 9 June 2010, and followed by the 21th Session of the Steering Committee of the GEE21 Project, on 11 June.

African Union and European Commissions Dialogue on Climate Policy [viewed]

8 June 2010: The fourth College-to-College Meeting between the African Union Commission (AUC) and the European Commission (EC) was held on 8 June 2010, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to discuss the implementation of the Africa/EU Joint Strategy and its Plan of Action and address common challenges facing the two Commissions. The meeting adopted a Joint Declaration, containing a section on dialogue on climate policy.
