GEF, UNDESA and UNESCAP Collaborate in Capacity Building Initiative on Financing Sustainable Electrification [viewed]
10 September 2009: The e8 group of electric utility companies, in partnership with the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) recently convened a conference on “Financing Sustainable Electrification: South and South-East Asia Dialogues,” in Bangkok, Thailand.
11 September 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has received a submission from Bolivia, under shared vision for long-term cooperative action, calling for a Universal Mother Earth's Rights Declaration. 
9 September 2009: UN Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator Helen Clark, in her opening statement to the second Regular Session of the Executive Board of the UNDP and the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), which convened on 9 September 2009, reminded participants of the agreement to develop a common framework to address the economic crisis and to build a more inclusive and greener globalization. 
9 September 2009: In a statement to the Green Korea 2009 Conference, UN Under-Secretary General for Economic and Social Affairs Sha Zukang encouraged developing countries to continue on a “greener” path to growth by targeting large investments toward energy efficiency, renewable energy and public transport. 
16 September 2009: The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has posted several documents for its 31st session and sessions of the Panel's Working Groups (WGs), which will take place from 26-29 October 2009, in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia. 
15 September 2009: The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has announced that nominations are now open for the sixth cycle of the Champions of the Earth award.
