12 April 2013: The UNFCCC Secretariat has launched a call for inspiring, innovative, successful and motivational examples of financial innovations in the context of activities that mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions or help the poor and vulnerable adapt to the effects of climate change.
11 April 2013: The "High Seas, Our Future!" conference, which took place in Paris, France, concluded with the launch of the "Paris Appeal for the High Seas" stressing the importance of governance of the high seas, in the run up to negotiations on this topic in 2014.

April 2013: The International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG) has released publications addressing issues central to the green economy and the development of post-2015 development goals, gender equity, land rights and agriculture in Southern Africa, Madagascar, Guatemala, Brazil, and Caribbean small island developing States (SIDS).
12 April 2013: At its 20th meeting, the Adaptation Fund Board approved a new project in Argentina to be implemented through the Fund's direct access mechanism, but was unable to make progress on three projects submitted by multilateral implementing entities (MIE) due to the Fund's limited resources.
11 April 2013: The UNFCCC Secretariat released an updated compilation of all nationally appropriate mitigation action (NAMAs) that developing countries intend to implement (FCCC/SBI/2013/INF.12). It contains NAMA information communicated by 55 developing countries and a group of parties, as included in documents FCCC/AWGLCA/2011/INF.1 and FCCC/AWGLCA/2012/MISC.2 and Add.1, as well as those provided by Burkina Faso, Dominica, Gambia and Guinea, who had not previously communicated NAMAs.
11 April 2013: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the report of the centralized review of the 2012 annual submission of Kazakhstan (FCCC/ARR/2012/KAZ) that indicates that greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for this country decreased by 27% between 1990 and 2010. It also states that, for 2010, the energy sector accounted for 82.2% of GHG emissions, the agriculture sector for 10.4% and the industrial processes sector for 5.5%.
10 April 2013: A report published by the European Environment Agency (EEA) finds that targeted interventions in consumer behavior can deliver energy savings as high as 20%.
9 April 2013: The International Energy Agency (IEA) has released a scoping study aimed to inform policy makers, decision makers, and other stakeholders on "Communication Best-Practices for Renewable Energy (RE-COMMUNICATE)." The study, conducted under IEA's Implementing Agreement on Renewable Energy Technology Deployment (IEA-RETD), concludes that targeted, effective renewable energy communications can be achieved via more consistent, holistic and rigorous approaches to pre- and post-campaign development.
