© World Bank 10 September 2009: The World Bank Group's investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects and programs in developing countries rose 24% in the last fiscal year to reach US$3.3 billion.

The World Bank Group has thus exceeded its commitments made at the Bonn International Renewable Energies Conference in 2004 to increase support for new renewable energy and energy efficiency, reaching US$7 billion over the period 2005-2009, more than three-and-a-half times the target.
