World Bank Co-Organizing MENA Carbon Forum

CFA- World Bank Co-Organizing MENA Carbon Forum

March 2009: The World Bank, in collaboration with the French Agency for Development, the Global Gas Flaring Reduction Initiative and the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency, is organizing the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Carbon Forum, scheduled to convene from 6-7 May 2009, in Cairo, Egypt.

 The Forum's main objective is to bring together stakeholders, including project owners and developers, CDM governance bodies, financial institutions, carbon market buyers and intermediaries, and service providers, to discuss the latest developments related to carbon markets and create opportunities for networking and business development. An ongoing study launched by the Bank to assess and analyze the potential CDM market for the energy sector in the MENA region will be released and presented during the Forum. [MENA Carbon Forum]
