UNITAR Holds “Training of Trainers” on Climate Change Workshop

8 June 2012: The UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) has concluded a three-day “training of trainers” workshop, which was organized to provide climate change professionals with the skills and confidence they need to train others on climate change issues.

The purpose of the workshop, which was held from 6-8 June 2012, in New York, US, was to build or enhance the capacity of the climate change professionals to effectively communicate and deliver training on climate change. The workshop included training on issues such as: identifying personal learning styles; tailoring training presentations and instructive exercises; enhancing and assessing the effectiveness of presentations; and providing feedback and discussing lessons learned. The trainers and trainees involved in the workshop will continue the circle and network opened at the workshop, in order to provide continuous support when delivering training. [UNITAR Press Release]
