UNFCCC Secretariat Receives Action Pledge Updates
27 April 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has received updates to Action Pledges under the Nairobi Work Programme (NWP). Action Pledges provide an avenue for organizations to publicize their involvement in the NWP and the activities they are carrying out towards the objectives and expected outcomes of the NWP.
The Action Pledges are geared towards future actions and how they can be tailored to better address the objectives of the NWP. They provide an interactive way for NWP partners, including parties, IGOs, NGOs and research institutes, to identify and commit publicly to undertaking activities towards the objectives and expected outcomes of the NWP. Updates of pledges have been received from: Environmental Development Action in the Third World (ENDA), the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Institute of Development Studies, Practical Action, global change SysTem for Analysis, Research and Training (START), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
