UNFCCC Releases Submissions on Research and Systematic Observation
24 April 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released eight submissions from regional and international climate change research programmes and organizations containing updates on developments in research activities relevant to the needs of the Convention, including on the long-term global goal, and information on technical and scientific aspects of emissions and removals of all greenhouse gases (GHG) from coastal and marine ecosystems (FCCC/SBSTA/2012/MISC.3).
The submissions are from: the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research; the Earth System Science Partnership; the EU's Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development; the Global Change System for Analysis, Research and Training; the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research; the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme; the International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change; and the World Climate Research Programme.
The Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) will be invited to take note of the submissions during its 36th session, scheduled to take place in Bonn, Germany, from 14-25 May 2012. [Publication: Submissions on Research and Systematic Observation]
