UNFCCC Releases Status of Contributions

11 May 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a note containing the status of receipt of contributions as of 1 May 2012 (FCCC/SBI/2012/INF.5). The note contains information on the status of receipt of contributions to the UNFCCC trust funds as at 1 May 2012, which indicates the status of indicative contributions to the Kyoto Protocol separately from the status of contributions to the Convention.

The report features ten tables, as follows: table 1 lists all 195 Parties to the Convention and shows the expected and received contributions during 2012 and the outstanding balances in euros due to the Trust Fund for the Core Budget of the UNFCCC; table 2 reflects the outstanding contributions in USD for prior years; table 3 groups Parties according to their status of contributions paid to the core budget for the Convention; table 4 lists all 192 Parties to the Kyoto Protocol and shows the expected and received contributions during 2012 and the outstanding balances for 2012 in euros; table 5 shows the outstanding amounts for the years 2005–2009 in USD; table 6 groups Parties according to their status of contributions paid to the core budget for the Kyoto Protocol; table 7 shows the status of payment of fees for the international transaction log; table 8 reflects the voluntary contributions received in 2012 to the Trust Fund for Supplementary Activities, including fees related to joint implementation, which amount to USD 2.0 million and USD 1.3 million, respectively; table 9 shows voluntary contributions to the Trust Fund for Participation in the UNFCCC Process, amounting to USD 0.1 million; table 10 lists the various fees paid towards the clean development mechanism, which amount to USD 21.8 million.

The UNFCCC note will be considered by the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) at its 36th session, scheduled to take place in Bonn, Germany, from 14–25 May 2012. [The Status of Contributions]
