UNFCCC Releases SBSTA 35 Report

1 March 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the report of the 35th session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA), which took place in Durban, South Africa, from 28 November - 3 December 2011 (FCCC/SBSTA/2011/5).

At the session, SBSTA addressed, inter alia: the Nairobi work programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change; methodological guidance for activities relating to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation and the role of conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks in developing countries (REDD+); development and transfer of technologies; research and systematic observation; forum on the impact of the implementation of response measures at the 34th and 35th sessions of the subsidiary bodies; matters relating to Article 2, paragraph 3, of the Kyoto Protocol (on adverse effects); methodological issues under the Convention, including emissions from fuel used for international aviation and maritime transport; methodological issues under the Kyoto Protocol, including carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) in geological formations as Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project activities.
