UNFCCC Releases Provisional COP 18 Agenda

13 September 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the provisional agenda for the 18th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 18), which will take place in Doha, Qatar, from 26 November - 7 December 2012. Annotations to the provisional agenda are also included.

The session will consider, inter alia: organizational matters; consideration of parties' proposals to amend the Convention; technology development and transfer and implementation of the Technology Mechanism; national communications; capacity building; and implementation of the Buenos Aires programme of work on adaptation and response measures. On matters relating to finance, the agenda includes consideration of: the long-term finance work programme; the Standing Committee report; the Green Climate Fund (GCF) report and guidance; arrangements between the COP and the GCF; report of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and guidance; and guidance to the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF). The agenda indicates that seven bodies will be meeting during the sessional period and that a High-level segment will also take place from 4-7 December. [Provisional COP 18 Agenda]
