30 March 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the Progress Report on the Work of the Consultative Group of Experts on National Communications from Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (CGE) (FCCC/SBI/2012/2).

The report contains the proceedings of the sixth meeting of the reconstituted CGE, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand, from 5-7 March 2012. During the meeting, the CGE reviewed progress in the implementation of its work programme since its last meeting, held in Santiago, Chile, on 12-13 September 2011, and agreed on the organization of the group's work for 2012.

In addition to this report, the UNFCCC Secretariat has released three other reports that contain information on the regional hands-on training workshops that were organized by the CGE, with the assistance of the Secretariat, between September 2011 and March 2012, namely: the progress report on the work of the CGE on the hands-on training workshop for the Africa region on vulnerability and adaptation assessment (FCCC/SBI/2012/12); the progress report on the work of the CGE on the hands-on training workshop for the Asia and Pacific region on national greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories (FCCC/SBI/2012/13); and the progress report on the work of the CGE on the hands-on training workshop for the Asia and Pacific region on mitigation assessment (FCCC/SBI/2012/14).

The reports will be considered by the 36th session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI), scheduled to take place in Bonn, Germany, from 14–25 May 2012.
