UNFCCC Releases Progress Report on Nairobi Work Programme
16 April 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the report on progress made in implementing activities under the Nairobi work programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change (FCCC/SBSTA/2012/INF.1).
The overall objective of the Nairobi work programme is to assist all Parties, in particular developing countries, including the least developed countries (LDCs) and small island developing States (SIDS), to improve their understanding and assessment of impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change, and to make informed decisions.
The report features sections on: progress made in implementing activities under the Nairobi work programme, which details the UNFCCC Secretariat's engagement with organizations, institutions, experts, communities and the private sector, as well as the collaboration among Parties, Nairobi work programme partner organizations and the private sector; the dissemination of outputs produced under the Nairobi work programme; and mandated next steps.
The report will be considered by the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice at its 36th session, scheduled to take place in Bonn, Germany, from 14–25 May 2012. [Progress Report on Nairobi Work Programme]
