UNFCCC Publishes Views on Options for Further Increasing the Level of Ambition
28 March 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the submissions from two intergovernmental organizations and 19 Parties containing their views on options and ways for further increasing the level of ambition.
At its 17th session, the Conference of the Parties (COP) requested Parties and observer organizations to submit, by 28 February 2012, their views on options and ways for further increasing the level of ambition (decision 1/CP.17, para. 8). The submissions from intergovernmental organizations (FCCC/ADP/2012/MISC.2) are from the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Resources Institute (WRI). The submissions from Parties (FCCC/ADP/2012/MISC.1) are from: Bolivia; China; Denmark and the European Commission, on behalf of the EU; Ecuador; Egypt; Gambia, on behalf of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs); Ghana; India; Japan; Kazakhstan; Malaysia; Nauru, on behalf of the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS); New Zealand; Norway; Pakistan; Saudi Arabia; Swaziland, on behalf of the African Group; Switzerland; and the US.
