UNFCCC Publishes Submissions to AWG-LCA 14
23 September 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published 12 submissions from parties, which will be considered by the third part of the 14th session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA 14), which will be held in Panama City, Panama, from 1-7 October 2011.
One submission (FCCC/AWGLCA/2011/MISC.2/Add.4) from Poland, on behalf of the EU, has been received on a new market based mechanism for developing countries consisting of a common core set of rules and procedures at the international level.
Submissions (FCCC/AWGLCA/2011/MISC.6/Add.3) have also been received from Australia, the EU, the Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia and the US on views on the items relating to a work programme for the development of modalities and guidelines listed in decision 1/CP.16, paragraph 46 (Cancun agreements), which concerns nationally appropriate mitigation commitments or actions by developed country parties.
Eight submissions (FCCC/AWGLCA/2011/ MISC.7/ Add.3) have been published from Australia, Chile, the EU, Israel, New Zealand, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and the US on nationally appropriate mitigation actions by developing country parties.
The UNFCCC Secretariat has published 12 submissions ( FCCC/AWGLCA/2011/MISC.9) from: Australia and Norway; Ethiopia; India; Iran; Japan and the US; the EU; the Russian Federation; Switzerland; and Ukraine on ideas and proposals on the elements contained in paragraph 1 of the Bali Action Plan (review further definition of its scope and development of its modalities). These 12 submissions have been posted on the UNFCCC website.
