UNFCCC Publishes Submissions on Recommendations on Loss and Damage
8 October 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a document containing the views and information from parties and relevant organizations on the possible elements to be included in the recommendations on loss and damage (FCCC/SBI/2012/MISC.14).
The submissions were made in response to the invitation by the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) at its 35th session for parties, relevant organizations and other stakeholders to submit to the Secretariat their views and information on the possible elements to be included in the recommendations on loss and damage. The Secretariat has received five such submissions: two from parties, namely Nauru on behalf of the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), and Norway; one from a UN organization, namely the UN Development Programme (UNDP); and three from non-governmental organizations (NGOs), namely the GenderCC - Women for Climate Justice, Brot für die Welt (BfdW), and a joint submission by the Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies and the International Centre for Climate Change and Development.
The submissions will be considered by the SBI at its 37th session, scheduled to be held at the end of the year in Doha, Qatar. [Views and Information from Parties and Relevant Organizations on the Possible Elements to be Included in the Recommendations on Loss and Damage]
