UNFCCC Publishes Slovenia’s Inventory Report

5 February 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the report (FCCC/ARR/2009/SVN) of the individual review of the annual submission of Slovenia submitted in 2009.

The report indicates that the inventory is in line with the Revised 1996 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Guidelines, the IPCC good practice guidance and the IPCC Good Practice Guidance for Land Use, Land-use Change and Forestry (LULUCF). The inventory covers the period 1986–2007 and is complete in terms of years, sectors and geographic coverage. Slovenia has submitted a complete set of common reporting format tables for the years 1986–2007 and a national inventory report (NIR).

The Expert Review Team found that the completeness of Slovenia's inventory could be improved in respect of the party's reporting of a number of non-LULUCF categories as not estimated (NE), especially those categories that are included in either the Revised 1996 IPCC guidelines or the IPCC good practice guidance, and for which methods are prescribed therein. The party's NIR shows improvement compared with its previous annual submission, in terms of the additional reporting on implemented quality assurance activities, on the peer review conducted of the energy sector and on the planned peer review of the industrial processes sector.
