UNFCCC Publishes SBSTA 32 Documents
16 April 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a synthesis report (FCCC/SBSTA/2010/5) on efforts undertaken to monitor and evaluate the implementation of adaptation projects, policies and programmes, the costs and effectiveness of completed projects, policies and programmes, and views on lessons learned, good practices, gaps and needs.
This document synthesizes information contained in submissions from parties and organizations and in other relevant sources on efforts undertaken to monitor and evaluate the implementation of adaptation measures, including projects, policies and programmes. It also contains sections on: conclusions, lessons learned, good practices, gaps and needs; and issues for further consideration. This document will be considered by the 32nd session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technical Advice (SBSTA 32), to be held from 31 May-9 June 2010, in Bonn, Germany.
Submissions from the EU and Uzbekistan on views on topics for discussion at the research dialogue taking place in the context of decision 9/CP.11, which will take place during SBSTA 32, have also been published (FCCC/SBSTA/2010/MISC.4).
The UNFCCC has also published submissions from Australia, Indonesia, Norway and the EU on views related to carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) in geological formations as a possible mitigation technology (FCCC/SBSTA/2010/MISC.2). These submissions will be considered by SBSTA 32.
Submissions from Colombia, Japan, the EU, Sri Lanka, and the US on views related to modalities and procedures for the development of standardized baselines from the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) have also been published (FCCC/SBSTA/2010/MISC.3).
