UNFCCC Publishes Liechtenstein’s GHG Inventory Report

7 December 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the annual GHG inventory submission report (FCCC/ARR/2010/LIE) of Liechtenstein.

The expert review team (ERT) finds that the inventory has been prepared and reported in accordance with the UNFCCC reporting guidelines. The inventory submission is complete and Liechtenstein has submitted a complete set of common reporting tables (CRF) for the years 1990-2008 and an national inventory report (NIR). The ERT finds that these are complete in terms of geographical coverage, years and sectors, as well as complete in terms of categories and gases. Liechtenstein's inventory is generally in line with the UNFCCC reporting guidelines, the Revised 1996 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Guidelines, the IPCC good practice guidance and the IPCC good practice guidance for Land Use, Land-use Change and Forestary (LULUCF). However, the ERT finds that Liechtenstein draws heavily on the methodological choices made by the Swiss national inventory team. The ERT notes that a rationale is not always provided to explain why these choices are also valid for Liechtenstein. [Liechtenstein's Inventory Report]
