UNFCCC Publishes LEG 20 Meeting Report
28 October 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the report (FCCC/SBI/2011/11) of the 20th meeting of the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG), which includes a summary of the status of preparation and implementation of national adaptation programmes of action (NAPAs).
The meeting was held in Vientiane, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, from 12-14 September 2011. The meeting report provides information on the priority activities of the work programme of the LEG for 2011, in particular on progress made by the LEG in the development of several technical and information papers. It also features a summary of the presentation made by the climate change team of the Lao People's Democratic Republic on a case study of the country related to the identification and implementation of medium- to long-term adaptation activities.
It concludes with a summary of the group's discussions on priorities up to its next meeting and beyond. This report will be considered by the 35th session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI), which will take place in Durban, South Africa, from 28 November - 3 December 2011.
