UNFCCC Publishes Croatia’s 2010 GHG Inventory Report

12 April 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the report (FCCC/ARR/2010/HRV) of the individual review of the annual submission of Croatia.

In the report, the Expert Review Team (ERT) concludes that Croatia's inventory submission is generally in line with the UNFCCC reporting guidelines, the Revised 1996 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Guidelines, the IPCC good practice guidance, and the IPCC good practice guidance for land use, land use-change and forestry (LULUCF). However, it indicates that Croatia used inappropriate parameters in its estimation of emissions for a number of categories in the agriculture sector. The ERT concludes that the national system continues to perform its required functions. The ERT also notes that Croatia did not submit its Kyoto Protocol (KP)-LULUCF inventory to the ERT until 16 October 2010, and found that the GHG inventory was not prepared in line with the Revised 1996 IPCC Guidelines or the IPCC good practice guidance, which resulted in the implementation of adjustment procedures under decision 20/CMP.1.

The ERT recommends that Croatia submits a complete submission by 15 April 2011, as required by decision 15/CMP.1 and improve its inventory management by undertaking various stipulated actions. [Publication: Report of the Individual Review of the Annual Submission of Croatia Submitted in 2010]
