UNEP, Frankfurt School Launch Centre for Climate and Sustainable Energy Finance

March 2011: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management have partnered to create the Collaborating Centre for Climate and Sustainable Energy Finance, which aims to facilitate structural changes in energy supply and use around the globe.

To this end, the Centre will help catalyze private sector capital flow towards investments in sustainable energy, as well as in climate change mitigation and adaptation. The Centre will be located at the Frankfurt School in Germany, and will combine research with an orientation towards practical applications all the way to the final implementation. By implementing findings and instruments in the field where they will be most effective, the Centre will aim to maximize its knowledge base and grow into a leading think tank on the topic of sustainable energy finance. [Frankfurt School of Finance Press Release]
