UNEP Children’s Painting Competition Highlights Climate Change

5 June 2008: The UN Environment Programme's (UNEP)

International Children's Painting Competition this year was on the theme

“Climate Change: Actions We Can Take Now.”

The winner, fourteen-year-old Gloria

IP Tung from Hong Kong, received her award from UNEP Executive Director Achim

Steiner, who said, “The impact of climate change on Earth is one of the biggest

challenges the international community faces, and the inspiration provided by
