UNCCD, GRF Davos Call for Contributions to 2nd Scientific Conference
29 May 2012: The Secretariat of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) Secretariat together with GRF Davos, the lead institution in organizing the UNCCD's 2nd Scientific Conference, have called for contributions to be included in the Conference programme.
The 2nd Scientific Conference will meet for three days in February 2013 and will discuss desertification, land degradation and drought (DLDD) from an economic point of view, in order to raise awareness of the effects - costs and benefits - of decisions related to land and ecosystems management. Abstracts for oral or poster presentations, special sessions or workshops are due by 31 August 2012.
The thematic focus of the call is arranged around the following three topics: drivers of change and resilience increase; economic, environmental and social assessment of DLDD; and economics of sustainable land management (policy and practice). [UNCCD 2nd Scientific Conference Website]
