Rio Conventions Pavilion Discusses Integrated Implementation
18 October 2012: On its final day, the Rio Conventions Pavilion at the 11th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 11) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in Hyderabad, India, convened to discuss the way towards integrated implementation of the Rio Conventions.
Panels convened in the morning on: youth on coastal and marine biodiversity and livelihoods; and piloting the development and implementation of national-level joint activities between the Rio Conventions. The afternoon sessions on sharing perspectives on sustainable development, and COP 11 business decisions and Rio Conventions, explored the linkages among sustainable development, business strategies, and trade issues.
The Pavilion is a collaborative outreach activity of the Secretariats of the Rio Conventions (the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and the CBD) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
