30 June 2011: The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) has announced €3 million in funding for 21 clean energy projects in 17 countries, focusing on improving access to modern energy services and promoting low carbon energy development in developing countries.
Of the 21 projects, 11 are located in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa, and approximately half of the projects are to support policy development for clean energy market creation, especially on the issues of energy efficiency standards and labeling. Among the remaining ten projects, five focus on low-carbon development in China, one focuses on transport in Indonesia, and four aim to replicate or scale up projects from past funding rounds. In addition, seven projects have been wait-listed for review and possible support. [REEEP Press Release] [Successful and Waitlisted Proposals List]
