Rajendra Pachauri Re-elected as IPCC Chair

Rajendra Pachauri, IPCC Chair 2 September 2008: During the 29th plenary session of

the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), being held in Geneva,

Switzerland, from 31 August to 4 September 2008, Rajendra Pachauri, the IPCC

Chairman, was re-elected by acclamation.

Pachauri has led the IPCC since 2002,

and under his leadership the Panel released its Fourth Assessment Report and

was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. [IPCC
