PACC Socioeconomic Assessment Carried Out in Kivori, PNG

28 February 2011: A socioeconomic assessment is been carried out in Kivori, Papua New Guinea (PNG), as a pilot site for the Pacific Adaptation to Climate Change (PACC) Project, implemented by the PNG Department of Agriculture and Livestock, with the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), and funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

The PACC Project team is analyzing the various problems faced by Kivori communities with a view to designing a PACC Programme for Kivori. The assessment is expected continue before on-the-ground implementation is carried out towards the end of 2011. [SPREP Press Release]
