JI Supervisory Committee Adopts Business, Management and Work Plans
18 March 2014: The Joint Implementation Supervisory Committee (JISC) has adopted its business plan and management plan (MAP) for 2014-2015, which set out, respectively, the JI's strategic direction for 2014 and 2015, and the work, capacity needs and estimated resource requirements necessary to implement the business plan. It also approved its 2014 workplan, which provides information on the work planned for each meeting of the JISC in 2014.
The JISC held its 34th meeting (JISC 34) from 17-18 March 2014, in Bonn, Germany, during which it also elected Piotr Dombrowicki and Julia Justo Soto as Chair and Vice-Chair of the JISC, respectively, until its first meeting in 2015. In addition, the Committee elected Benoît Leguet and Carlos Fuller to serve as the Chair and Vice-Chair, respectively, of the Joint Implementation Accreditation Panel (JI-AP).
During the meeting, the JISC considered a concept note on future development of the JI accreditation system and agreed to align the JI's accreditation system with that of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). It agreed to initiate a dialogue with the CDM Executive Board, with a view to reaching a common decision on accreditation.
The JISC also held an interaction with the Chair of the Designated Operational Entity (DOE)/Accredited Independent Entities (AIE) Coordination Forum, as well as with one of the JISC's registered observers. [Publication: Report of the 34th Meeting of the JI Supervisory Committee] [JISC Press Release]
