IRRI/CCAFS Hold Training on GHG Emissions in SE Asia
8 January 2014: Recognizing the significant potential greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from rice fields, the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and the Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security program (CCAFS) organized a joint training to increase technical capacity of researchers in Southeast Asia to work on GHG mitigation research.The workshop also sought to improve standardization of research procedures in measuring emissions from rice fields.
It was held in Los Banos, Philippines, from 9-11 December 2013 at the IRRI campus. The course was attended 13 researchers and trainers from Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam.
