Indian Climate Scientist Wins Top UN Meteorological Prize

WmoThe World Meteorological Organization (WMO) awarded Jagadish Shukla, President of the Institute of Global of Environment and Society and Professor of Earth Sciences and Global Change, and Chairman of Climate Dynamics at George Mason University, the 52nd International Meteorological Organization (IMO) Prize.

The award, bestowed in recognition of his contributions to meteorological and hydrological science, was presented by WMO President Alexander Bedritsky, who said Shukla was instrumental in developing and supporting international meteorological and hydrological efforts that have enabled the world to better understand and respond to climate change and variablity.
