IDB Organizes Regional Policy Dialogue on National and Sectoral Strategies and Programmes for Climate Change
5 August 2009: The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) organized a meeting of the network on Sustainable Energy, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management to discuss national and sectoral climate change strategies.
Participants exchanged experiences regarding the use and capacity of economic valuation to inform decisions about coastal-marine resource management, and air quality and contamination control. The UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) participated in a panel on the economics of climate change in Latin America, and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) participated in a panel on international and national financing alternatives for climate change.
