GEF Promotes Climate Change Dialogue with African Youth

GEF14 September 2011: The Global Environment Facility (GEF), through the initiative Connect4Climate has initiated an interactive dialogue on climate change issues amongst African youth and social media users around the world.

Interested youth may post their opinions through a Facebook platform, and participate in a photo and video challenge in September 2011 focused on Africa. Young people from the ages of 13 to 30 are invited to present photos and videos (of up to 60 seconds) on one of six topics, namely clean energy, agriculture, forests, health and climate change, gender and climate change, and local solutions. The best entries will participate and be exhibited at the UN Conference on Climate Change in Durban, South Africa, at the end of 2011.
