FAO and CGIAR Partnership to Increase Collaboration on Research and Innovation
28 February 2013: A new five year Memorandum of Understanding between the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) and the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) has been signed to help the FAO provide the CGIAR with advice on agricultural research priorities.
The CGIAR will advise the FAO on the potential for scaling up innovations in agriculture and to help FAO reach smallholder farmers. The partnership will build on the strengths of both organizations and give the FAO increased access to the 15 research centers of the CGIAR. [FAO Press Release] [CGIAR Press Release]
