CEM Announces New Web Portal on Electric Vehicle Best Practices
28 December 2012: The Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) announced the launch of the "World EV Cities and Ecosystems" web portal, which aims to connect policy makers and practitioners for sharing electric vehicle (EV) best practices and encouraging increased cooperation in cities worldwide.
The web portal provides information on local policies, incentives, programs, and customer behaviors from case studies from 16 cities and regions in nine countries and three continents. These cases were compiled in the EV City Casebook that was presented at the Third Clean Energy Ministerial in April 2012. The portal's database will expand over time to cover other cities as well.
The web portal and the casebook are developed by the Global Electric Vehicle Insight Exchange (EVX), which is a partnership of several initiatives, including: CEM's Electric Vehicle Initiative (EVI); the Rocky Mountain Institute's Project Get Ready; Task 18 of the International Energy Agency's (IEA) Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Implementing Agreement; and the Plug-in Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Research Center of the University of California, Davis.
