CDM Insights Web Portal Offers Data and Analysis Resources
5 December 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has announced the launch of a revamped portal with up-to-date analysis and data about the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). The portal, called CDM Insights, features graphics, statistics, descriptions, and downloadable data on topics including: CDM validation; issuance of Certified Emissions Reduction (CER) credits; and CDM methodologies.
The web portal contains downloadable data, which are updated for each month. Data from previous months are archived at the site. Updated on 30 November 2012, the portal currently features details such as: the potential supply of CERs; the number of CDM project activities that have issued CERs; and information about registered projects. Within each category, the site offers specific downloadable data documents on subjects like the percentage of designated national authorities (DNAs) by UNFCCC region.
Academics and researchers may also request time-bound data on various aspects of the CDM, subject to availability. The web portal offers directions for universities and research institutes who wish to request access to additional data for research purposes. [CDM Insights Portal]
