ASB to Build Capacity for REDD Negotiators
4 December 2010: The Alternatives to Slash and Burn Partnership at the World Agroforestry Centre (ASB-ICRAF) has launched the second phase of its project on "Building REDD Capacity for Developing Country Negotiators and Land Managers."
The project focuses on helping UN-REDD Program pilot countries build their policy analysis capacity through meetings, workshops, policy papers and a web-platform to support South-South information sharing on REDD+ (reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, and the role of conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks). The project is implemented by the International Institue for Sustainable Development (IISD) and ASB-ICRAF, with support from the Government of Norway. ICRAF is a member of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). [IISD Press Release] [Project Website]
