CBD Sub-regional Workshop for Anglophone Africa on the Integration of Climate Change and Ecosystem-based Adaptation in NBSAPs

Organized by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), with a financial contribution from the Government of Japan, this workshop is being held back-to-back with the technical workshop organized by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) on ecosystem-based approaches for adaptation to climate change under the Nairobi Work Programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change, held from 21-23 March 2013, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The workshop will support the update and/or implementation of National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plans (NBSAP) and the development of national climate change adaptation plans.

Fifth Meeting of the Technology Executive Committee

The Fifth Meeting of the Technology Executive Committee (TEC) will take place from 26-27 March 2013, in Bonn, Germany. The meeting will discuss the outcomes of the 18th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 18) to the UNFCCC, and the implications for the work of the TEC, as well as collaboration with other relevant institutional arrangements under and outside the Convention and technology roadmaps.

Inter-Ministerial and Experts Conference on Biosphere Reserves in the Caribbean Sub-Region

Organized by the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis and the UN Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Man and the Biosphere Programme, this meeting will convene under the theme "Tools for Sustainable Development and Growth." The objective of the event is to facilitate discussions on the identification of appropriate locations for new biosphere reserves as well as their integration with local/national sustainable development and adaptation to climate change plans.

GEF Expanded Constituency Workshop (ECW) - Cambodia

This Global Environment Facility (GEF) Expanded Constituency Workshop (ECW) in Cambodia brings together GEF focal points, focal points from the main Conventions (Biodiversity, Desertification, Climate Change and POPs), representatives from civil society and representatives from the GEF Secretariat and the GEF Agencies. Building on the success of the first two years of ECWs in 2011 and 2012, the third session will further strengthen participants knowledge of GEF-5 strategies, programs, policies and procedures. Countries involved in this workshop include: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
