Agriculture, Landscapes and Livelihoods Day 5: Solutions for People in Drylands and Beyond provides an opportunity for the natural resource and agriculture community to share solutions for climate change adaptation and mitigation in agricultural landscapes. The event will provide a venue to engage with key stakeholders and decision makers, and develop solutions that can feed into 2013 UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) discussions. The event will take place alongside the 18th session of the Conference of Parties (COP 18) to the UNFCCC, in Doha, Qatar, on 3 December 2012. This year's event aims to identify: existing, large scale solutions to specific mitigation and adaptation challenges that can benefit farmers, in particular small scale farmers; gaps where there are limited existing solutions or limited available knowledge; and potential trade-offs in implementing existing, known solutions. The Day is co-hosted by, inter alia, CGIAR and the World Bank, and co-organized by, inter alia, IFAD, FAO and WFP.

Doha Global Business Day 2012 is jointly organized by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and will take place on 3 December 2012, at the Diplomatic Club in Doha, Qatar. The event will be held in parallel to the 18th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 18) to the UNFCCC, and will explore the business perspective of diversifying the energy mix by 2050 in the framework of global green growth. The afternoon will have a special focus on the opportunities for green growth in the Middle East.

Mountain Day 2 is being jointly organized by the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and the Mountain Partnership Secretariat (MPS) / UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in the context of the Strategic Initiative for Mountains and Climate Change funded by the Development Grant Facility of the World Bank. Other sponsors and partners include the Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS), WWF, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), and the Government of Nepal. The event will highlight the critical role of mountain ecosystems for climate adaptation and sustainable development. It will focus on the theme "Mainstreaming Rio+20 outcomes in UNFCCC processes for prosperous, resilient, and sustainable mountain ecosystems and communities." The Day will be held in parallel to the 18th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 18) to the UNFCCC in Doha, Qatar, on 3 December 2012.
