Workshop on Financing and Investments in Mitigation Actions in West Africa

This workshop, sponsored by the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) States Business Climate Facility, aims to bring together high-level decision makers and experts to examine bottlenecks to developing Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) activities in the region, in order to scale-up renewable energy and energy efficiency so as to increase access to modern energy services. Specifically, the workshop will: adopt an Economic Community Of West African States (ECOWAS) Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) regional action plan and roadmap to promote NAMA capacities in ECOWAS Members States; and create an ECREEE climate change facility to coordinate NAMA activities at the regional level and leverage finance.
