67th Meeting of the CDM Executive Board

The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Executive Board will hold its 67th meeting to consider matters relating to the operation of the CDM.

Addis Ababa: Managing the Regional Risks of Climate Extremes and Disasters – Learning from the IPCC Special Report

This event is part of a series of briefings that will seek to publicize the findings of the IPCC Special Report SREX to policy makers, practitioners and private sector audiences. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) prepared a Special Report titled "Managing the Risks of Extreme Events and Disasters for Advancing Climate Change Adaptation" (SREX), and launched the report's Summary for Policy Makers on 18 November 2011, with the full report released in hard copy in March 2012. To follow up on this report, the IPCC, the Overseas Development Institute, Norway's Climate and Pollution Agency, Norway's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Climate and Development Knowledge Network are working with local counterparts to support a programme of regional outreach events. This event in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, is invitation only. Speakers will include IPCC authors and invited guests from the East African region.

International Conference on Agriculture and Environment

This conference is organized around the theme "Agricultural Production and Economic Growth in Harmony with the Environment: A Shared Vision in the Context of Climate Change." It will be hosted by the Honduran Government and Zamorano University, with support from the Inter-American Institute on Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), the Central American Commission on Environment and Development (CCAD), the Central American Commission on Agriculture (CAC), and several international organizations related to agriculture. The conference is intended to help prepare the eight Member States of the Central American Integration System (SICA) for negotiations on issues related to food, biomass and other agricultural production in upcoming global talks on biodiversity, biosafety and climate change, as well as the June 2012 UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD or Rio+20).
