The UNFCCC Secretariat is organizing this meeting of the lead reviews of the expert teams that review the greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories of Annex I parties. The aim of the meeting is to promote a common approach by expert review teams to methodological and procedural issues encountered in the inventory reviews, and to make recommendations to the Secretariat on ways to further improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the inventory reviews.

The Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) will hold its next meeting in conjunction with the Planet Under Pressure Conference. At its meeting, STAP will seek to address the following objectives, among other tasks: define new additions to its work programme, drawing conclusions in part from the Planet Under Pressure Conference; present and discuss preliminary findings from its review of the GEF targeted research policy; and prepare for the fifth overall performance study of the GEF.
