UNFCCC Releases Parties' Submissions on the GCF, the GEF and Gender [viewed]

UNFCCC18 September 2013: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the submissions by parties on the Green Climate Fund (GCF), on the Global Environment Facility (GEF), and on the gender balance goal. The submissions will be considered by the Conference of the Parties at its 19th session (COP 19) to be held in Warsaw, Poland, from 11-22 November 2013.

The resulting G20 Leaders' Declaration addresses: enhancing trade, financial regulation and consumer protection; promoting development for all, including through attainment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the post-2015 development agenda; sustainable energy policy; and combating climate change.

The Group of Twenty (G20) is a forum that assembles 19 members plus the EU, representing the world's major economies. General themes include global economy, financial regulation, poverty reduction and sustainable development. G20 Urged to Address Development Issues [viewed]

G20 RUSSIA30 August 2013: In a letter to the Group of 20 (G20) ahead of its 2013 Leaders' Summit, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon calls on the Group to take leadership on issues of sustainability.
