7 March 2011: The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has released a report titled “Greening Household Behaviour: The Role of Public Policy,” that presents the results of a 10,000 household survey carried out in ten countries.
3 March 2011: US Secretary of State Clinton and Poland Foreign Minister Sikorski have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in Clean and Efficient Energy.
The meeting will address possible reform of institutional arrangements under the Timber Committee of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the European Forestry Commission of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Additional topics will include: guidance of work areas, including markets and statistics; forest resources assessment; forest sector outlook studies; social and cultural aspects; policy and cross-sectoral issues; the status of the joint wood energy enquiry; and a roundtable on forest information challenges.
Participants at this meeting will consider the possible establishment of a joint Working Party on Forest Policy and Management as a subsidiary body under the Timber Committee of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the European Forestry Commission of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
23 February 2011: During a workshop on hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) convened by the US and India on 18 February 2011, the two countries agreed to convene a joint task force to examine approaches to reduce the use of climate-damaging HFCs.
