NOAA, Arctic Council Release 2012 Arctic Report Card [viewed]

7 December 2012: The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), with the support of two working groups of the Arctic Council, has released the 2012 update to the Arctic Report Card. The Report Card, which has been published since 2006 tracks environmental changes in the region, including with regard to the atmosphere, sea ice and ocean, marine ecosystems, terrestrial ecosystems and the terrestrial cryosphere.

UNFCCC Secretariat Releases Submission from Parties on Various Approaches [viewed]

UNEP Releases Report on Thawing Permafrost, Warns of Increased GHG Emissions and Threats to Ecosystems [viewed]

UNEP27 November 2012: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) has released a report, titled “Policy Implications of Warming Permafrost,” which aims to highlight the potential hazards of carbon dioxide and methane emissions from warming permafrost. The report also underscores the impacts of decreasing permafrost to ecosystems, and recommends an Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) assessment on permafrost.

GSEP Energy Management System Pilot Project Improves Company's Energy Performance by 15% [viewed]

UNFCCC Releases Report on National GHG Inventory Data for 1990-2010 [viewed]

UNFCCC16 November 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a report on national greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory data for the period 1990-2010 for all 42 Annex I Parties (FCCC/SBI/2012/31). It highlights that total aggregate GHG emissions excluding land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF) decreased by 8.9%, and including LULUCF decreased by 14.6%.
