Member States Debate Working Methods, Scope and Timing of Post-2015 Negotiations [viewed]

Post 2015 Process3 December 2014: UN Member States convened for an informal plenary meeting on “the organization and modalities for intergovernmental negotiations and remaining issues related to the Summit for the adoption of the post-2015 development agenda.” Governments responded to the co-facilitators' “food for thought” paper of 17 November 2014, which had been issued following the consultations of 4 and 10 November. Member States are expected to meet again next week to discuss a new calendar of eight negotiating dates, circulated by the co-facilitators at the end of the session.

UNEP Forum Urges Accelerated Transition to Energy Efficient Lighting [viewed]

enlighten11 November 2014: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) en.lighten initiative has convened the Global Efficient Lighting Forum, which focused on accelerating the global phase-in of energy-efficient lighting products. The co-facilitators – David Donoghue, Permanent Representative of Ireland, and Macharia Kamau, Permanent Representative of Kenya – expect to issue a “starting document” by the week of 17 November, covering the process, road map, and scope of work for intergovernmental negotiations.
