UN Hosts Interactive Dialogue on Harmony with Nature [viewed]

UNGA22 April 2013: In commemoration of International Mother Earth Day, the UN General Assembly (UNGA) held an interactive dialogue on Harmony with Nature, called for in UNGA resolution 67/214. The dialogue, held at UN Headquarters in New York, US, on 22 April 2013, featured remarks from UN officials and Member State representatives, and a panel discussion and interactive exchange between participants and delegates.

UNFCCC Publishes Note on Arrangements for Intergovernmental Meetings [viewed]

UNFCCC19 April 2013: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a note on arrangements for intergovernmental meetings (FCCC/SBI/2013/4), which addresses, among other issues: the 19th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 19) and the 9th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP/MOP 9); future sessional periods, including for the sessional periods in 2018; and organization of the intergovernmental process, including the engagement of observer organizations.

SREP Calls for Proposals that Engage the Private Sector in Low Carbon Investment [viewed]

UNDP Releases Framework on Derisking Renewable Energy Investment in Developing Countries [viewed]

UNDP17 April 2013: The UN Development Programme (UNDP) has released a framework designed to help policy-makers select public instruments to promote investment in renewable energy in developing countries. The goal of the framework, presented in a report on “Derisking Renewable Energy Investment,” is to support transparent policy-making with quantitative comparisons of different public instruments and portfolios for derisking investments in renewable energy.

Fourth Clean Energy Ministerial Launches Actions on Energy Access, Efficiency, and Supply [viewed]

18 April 2013: Leaders from the Clean Energy Ministerial's (CEM) 23 participant countries have announced new actions and reaffirmed existing commitments to accelerate clean energy deployment, improve energy efficiency, and increase access to clean energy around the world. The energy ministers and other high-level delegates who gathered for the Ministerial's fourth meeting (CEM4) also outlined progress on CEM's 13 current initiatives and welcomed further work on clean energy finance to be delivered to CEM5 in the Republic of Korea in 2014.

MIF, NDF Launch “PROADAPT” to Build Climate Resilience in LAC [viewed]

15 April 2013: The Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), a member of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group, and the Nordic Development Fund (NDF) announced the launch of a US$11.9 million regional facility, PROADAPT, which will support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Latin American and the Caribbean (LAC) to build climate resilience and access green business opportunities.

IDB Approves US$50 Million Energy Efficiency Finance Facility [viewed]
