Kyoto Protocol Committee Considers Compliance of Ukraine, Lithuania, Canada and Italy [viewed]

20 October 2011: The reports of the ninth meeting of the plenary of the Kyoto Protocol Compliance Committee, the fifteenth meeting of the Compliance Committee enforcement branch and the tenth meeting of the Compliance Committee facilitative branch are now available. The enforcement and facilitative branches held their fifteenth and tenth meetings, respectively, from 11-12 October 2011, and the plenary held its ninth meeting on 13th October 2011, in Bonn, Germany.

European Council Prepares for Durban and Cannes [viewed]

23 October 2011: The European Council, gathering the Heads of State and government of the EU, has endorsed the EU position for the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 17) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which will take place in Durban, South Africa, at the end of 2011, and for the upcoming G20 meeting in Cannes, France.

Event: CIF PPCR Pilot Countries Meeting [viewed]

The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) Pilot Program on Climate Resilience (PPCR) will hold a meeting to review progress and tasks ahead in implementing PPCR. The pilot programs and projects implemented under the PPCR are country-led, build on National Adaptation Programs of Action (NAPA) and other relevant country studies and strategies, and include countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and the South Pacific.

UNFCCC Publishes Romania's Forest Management Reference Level Report [viewed]

20 October 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the report of the technical assessment of the forest management reference level (FMRL) submission of Romania (FCCC/TAR/2011/ROU). The Expert Review Team (ERT) noted that Romania has calculated its FMRL on a transparent basis, adequate for consideration by the Conference of the Parties (COP).
