Event: Second Global Conference on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change [viewed]

The second Global Conference on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change, which will include a High-Level Meeting, is co-organized by the Governments of Viet Nam and the Netherlands, in collaboration with other partners, including the World Bank and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO). The meeting is organized around the theme "Hunger for Action" and will take stock of the implementation of the Roadmap for Action established at the 2010 conference in The Hague, the Netherlands, and set new and more concrete priorities for action while demonstrating early action on climate-smart agriculture as a driver for green growth. The dates were originally set for May.

Nordic Environment Ministers Adopt Svalbard Declaration on Short-lived Climate Forcers [viewed]

27 March 2012: Nordic Environment Ministers from Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Åland adopted the Svalbard Declaration on Short-lived Climate Forcers (SLCFs) under the Nordic Council of Ministers to reduce emissions of short life-span gases, including black carbon, which have a large impact on both climate and health.

UN Report Highlights Sustainable Development Challenges in Eastern Europe and Central Asia [viewed]
